Despite being the valedictorian at Scott High School, Dana wasn’t sure college was a possibility. As the only child in a single-parent household, the cost felt overwhelming—until she connected with Toledo Tomorrow. In Dana’s own words:
"Toledo Tomorrow helped me by answering questions thoroughly, also helping with scholarship applications, and encouraging me to advocate for myself.”
Toledo Tomorrow not only assisted Dana with her college application, we also worked with her to secure $28,895 in scholarships.
Today, Dana is a business major at Kentucky State University. Her advice to other students reflects her determination: “Start saving now, don’t give up, don’t be afraid to change, take advantage of every opportunity, don’t get discouraged.”
Anna was homeless during her freshman year at Waite High School and failed all of her classes. Once her single father was able to get stable housing, she raised her GPA to a 3.0. With guidance and support from Toledo Tomorrow, Anna applied to college and earned scholarships, and is now a proud student at the University of Toledo.
